APBA
Finalizes 2007 Racing Rules For Hydrospace S4

After extensive research and consideration, the APBA has announced the 2007 rules that will integrate the Hydrospace S4 into U.S. racing. The following is information from the 2007 APBA Competition Rulebook and website that explains how the Hydrospace S4 fits into racing for all APBA events in the United States. With the new APBA rules the Hydrospace can race in all APBA Ski classes as well as the new Amateur Ski Stock Class II. The new APBA rules will allow the Hydrospace S4 to be competitive in several different classes with minimal (if any) additional cost to the racer to compete in Stock and Stock Class II. The addition of an aftermarket ECU, which can be easily switched between races, allows the Hydrospace to be competitive with current Limited two-stroke watercraft. Below is a summary of the new APBA rules concerning the Hydrospace S4:
23.2
STOCK SKI AND AMATEUR STOCK SKI CLASS II
23.2.1 Special Rules - Stock Ski Classes: Four-stroke turbo/supercharged watercraft may race in all Stock Ski classes provided the boost pressure does not exceed 4psi. The boost may be controlled by the use of a boost regulator valve or electronically through the waste gate controller/switch.
Note:
Boost pressure is not restricted in
the Amateur Ski Stock Class II for four-stroke turbocharged/supercharged models. 23.2.2 Special Rules - Amateur Ski Stock Class II: Two-stroke Stock Class watercraft may race in the Amateur Ski Stock Class II Class. In the Amateur Ski Stock Class II four-stroke turbocharged/supercharged watercraft may run unrestricted with stock OEM boost. 23.2.3 In addition to all Stock Class rules two-stroke watercraft are also allowed the following modifications in Amateur Ski Stock Class I
